Remember those crazy bus captains that dress like
clowns? Swallow goldfish? Well, I have joined their
ranks! Yesterday the adults lost the Sunday School
contest by ONE POINT! The adults needed 55 and the
children needed 70. The children had 85 and the adults
54! SO… I had to swallow a live fish! Not bad with
coolaid!
On a better note, we had 139 for Sunday School, which is
a record for us. Also, we had another rarity… Nobody
came or left between SS and church, so we had 139 for
the AM service on Sunday! Sunday night we had 97 with a
total of 18 visitors for the day.
Another sweet blessing that God gave us was the first
visit of our old neighbors. Becky has been inviting
them for over 3 years and yesterday they came to both SS
and morning church! Their 7 year old boy passed away 3
weeks ago, he had severe cerebral palsy. Please pray
for the salvation of Iris, Jesus and Rodrigo.
Next Monday a group of teens and men are traveling to
Arequipa to climb the volcano Misti. Misti is 21,000
feet. Yesterday it snowed on Misti, so pray it melts so
we can get to the top! Also pray for our safety and for
a special time of bonding and spiritual growth for the
men. We will be going with a group from our church in
Arequipa.
Our schedule is filling up for our furlough in 2007. We
have lots of openings in April and May for Florida,
Georgia and the Washington DC area. Pray that we will
be able to make contacts for that time.
Please remember to pray for the following needs: 1.
Children’s home-schooling materials, 2. Several church
families in spiritual need, 3. Funds for benches,
hymnbooks, roof, van for bus routes, new property, 4.
Theme, organization and plans for 2007 (next week we
have a leadership retreat), 5. Spanish preaching tapes.
We would love to hear from you! We pray for you all
regularly, so please share with us special prayer
requests. Thank you for your friendship in the
ministry.
