Dear Friends and Family,
Happy New Year! God has given us
a new calendar year to serve Him faithfully and
purposefully. May God receive all the glory for all
we do in Jesus’ Name!
We ended 2006 enjoying God’s
blessing on our Christmas Cantata, Christmas dinner
and Vision Night on New Year’s Eve. We had over 100
in attendance as we announced our theme and cast the
vision that God has given us for 2007. We had
wonderful fellowship, preaching and food (of
course!).
January has launched our busy
summer schedule we call “crazy summer”. We started
with VBS in our church neighborhood. We had 45-70
in attendance with over 20 volunteer workers from
the church. The gospel was plainly given through
the 10 Commandments. We have had a number of the
kids and parents visit our services at church,
praise the Lord!
Last week we had our first
Couples Retreat with 26 in attendance! The response
was incredible to the practical teaching and
preaching. The teens hosted a wonderful banquet and
supplied music, skits and a great meal. We praise
the Lord for at least 2 salvation decisions as a
result of that retreat!
This past Sunday through
Wednesday we had our first Revival of the year. We
invited Pastor Montaño and his wife, Magdalena, from
California to come for both the Couples Retreat and
Revival, but immigrations in Lima would not let him
enter with his Mexican passport! We were very sad
about that! In spite of that disappointment, God
chose to use us in a special way. Our attendance
for the 4 nights was 129, 118, 114 and 150. We had
more than 60 first time visitors during the
Revival! God brought many to a saving knowledge of
HIM and we are looking forward to visiting each
house and following up on each decision.
We now have a week before our
Leadership Camp, 2nd VBS and Missions trip. We
covet your prayers as we desire a great harvest of
souls, spiritual growth in our leaders and MOST of
all to honor our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Also, please pray about some
special needs we have as a family. We will need a
van for our furlough in April (12-15 passenger).
Also, airline prices have really jumped and we are
scrambling to be able to purchase tickets, plus our
sales tax here is 19% which is a big hit! Please
pray for God’s provision. He’s never failed us
yet!!!
We are still trying to sell our
van so we can purchase property in Arequipa for
Pastor Henry. We are also still constructing here
in Tacna and are needing to purchase at least 2
acres. We are excited to share with you all our 5
year plan when we visit your church during our
furlough. If we don’t make it to you church, we
will send a DVD. God is doing great things here in
Peru!
Thank you for your prayers and
support. We are honored to represent you in Peru!
