We send our greetings once again from
Peru, South America. We are enjoying some beautiful weather
recently as well as some spiritual victories that we want to
share with you.
Thank you for your prayers for Becky.
She is recovering from the miscarriage as well as the broken
ribs. Each day she is getting stronger. Our kids are doing
great. They are eating us out of house and home!!! We have
2 teenagers, soon to have 3! Baby Amanda is 1 and is our
family entertainment! Thanks for praying for our family!
We continue to see fruit from our
Revival Meeting in August. Our attendance has stayed right
at 100 and we have had a steady stream of visitors as well.
As a result of the salvation decisions, we have started a
new Bible study on Saturdays. Missionary Keith Brock is
taking the responsibility of this new group of believers and
is working with one of our leaders, Ignacio.
Please pray that God will give us
special wisdom as we help these new converts grow in grace.
We are also doing a LOT of counseling with broken marriages
and wayward children. Each new believer comes with a
different set of problems and we desire to meet these
problems with biblical solutions!
We praise the Lord for the Keith and
Anita Brock family coming to team up with us here in Tacna.
They are settled into their rented home and are jumping
right in! The 12th of Sept. Kathy Harris is
coming to help with our children’s Home Schooling. God has
been good to provide co-laborers! What an answer to prayer!
This week we will begin looking for a
new property for Calvary Baptist in Tacna. We have totally
out-grown our current building! We have found a property
for $2/ ft2 . We would like to be able to
purchase at least 2 acres for the future growth of the
church and the educational center for our Christian School
and Seminary. We are trusting the Lord to provide for this
need.
A new project we are hoping to implement
soon is the starting of several small businesses. We have
projected the startup costs to be $300-$500 for each
business endeavor. Our purpose is to provide jobs for
faithful church members and all extra proceeds will go
toward capital improvements and church planting. We are
planning to start with a “Sandwich Cart” and use that as a
trial. We will be needing help with capital to get these
businesses started, but from there they will be
self-supporting.
Our furlough for 2007 is beginning to
take shape. It looks like we will be in California
July/Aug; Minnesota and Wisconsin in Oct/Nov. I don’t know
exactly where we will be the other months, but it is always
exciting to see how God directs our paths!
We greatly covet your prayers as we are
in the busiest days we have every experienced in the
ministry. Pray for wisdom and balance for both our family
and ministry. Thank you for your personal sacrifice of time
and finances as you pray and support our family! May God
richly bless you.
Fellow laborer,
Jonathan
