Iglesia Bautista Fundmental is the first church that we have had the privilege to plant. It was neat to see how the Lord worked out all of the details to make it possible! God put a preacher boy, Henry Sucapuca on my heart. God was also working in his heart and led him to talk to me about working together. Pastor Henry is a dear personal friend and hard worker, it has been great working with him!

On January 14, 2002, we started a week-long revival. The week before we passed out over 5,000 invitations. Each night of the revival we had a visiting Peruvian Pastor preach a Gospel message. The pastors came about an hour and a half early to pass out tracts with some people from their churches. God blessed and we had an average attendance of 75 people with 35 salvation decisions in the 5 night revival.

Sunday, the 20th of January we had our first official Sunday services. It has been a real joy to watch God forming His church! It has been great watching our young church grow, new Christian make spiritual decision and see the church learn to love their pastor, Bro. Henry.

We are now praying that the first convert would be baptized. This is a real step of faith for these ex-Catholic believers. Their families are resisting and it is a real internal struggle. We are planning a special day trip in August to baptize those that have indicated they are ready. We had a special baptism day in March, but all of 6 people that were to get baptized backed out at the last moment! We were very sad, but we are much happier waiting on God’s perfect timing.
